Accreditation Ceremony hosted by the GSAT 30 June 2026
On Tuesday 30th June, the Greek School of Ayia Triada Birmingham had the honour of hosting the 2025 European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) Accreditation Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of schools and colleges taking part in this prestigious educational programme.
Organised in partnership with the European Parliament Liaison Office in the United Kingdom, the event welcomed around 100 students and teachers from 12 schools and colleges across the country. The ceremony celebrated young people's commitment to democratic values, active citizenship, and European cooperation.
The event began with welcome addresses from Mr Spyros Miltiades, Deputy High Commissioner of Cyprus, Mr Alexandros Ioannides, Consul General of Greece in Manchester, and the Head of the European Parliament Liaison Office in London, who highlighted the importance of encouraging young people to engage in democratic life and praised the impact of the EPAS programme.
Students from participating schools shared their experiences, demonstrating how the programme has strengthened their understanding of European institutions while developing valuable skills in leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking. The ceremony was also attended by distinguished representatives from European organisations and communities across the Midlands.
A proud highlight of the event was the presentation of the European Parliament Ambassador School Accreditation Award to the Greek School of Ayia Triada Birmingham for the third time, recognising the school's continued commitment to promoting European citizenship and democratic engagement. The Greek School of Wales and the Greek School of Bristol also received accreditation this year.
The ceremony was a memorable celebration of educational excellence, international cooperation, and the inspiring role that young people play in shaping the future of Europe. The Greek School of Ayia Triada Birmingham is proud to have hosted this prestigious national event and thanks everyone who contributed to its success.
In September 2023, our school proudly joined the European Parliament Ambassadors programme, marking a significant milestone as an ambassador school with our students appointed as junior ambassadors. Despite the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union, our school community, comprised largely of European Union citizens residing in a European country, enthusiastically embraced this educational initiative.
The programme exceeded our expectations, enriching our students with profound knowledge, valuable experiences, and innovative ideas. Throughout the school year, our junior ambassadors participated in seminars, debates, and celebrations at Europe House in London, in addition to hosting numerous meetings on campus. These gatherings explored topics ranging from European history and democracy to the implications of Brexit and the purpose of the European Union.
Becoming an ambassador school transcended academic discourse to include enjoyable activities such as project creation, music appreciation, and exploring diverse European cuisines—a privilege our ambassadors enthusiastically embraced. We take immense pride in our affiliation with the European Parliament Ambassador programme, viewing ourselves as an integral part of its extended family and eagerly anticipating continued participation in the years ahead.
Witnessing the positive transformation in our students, their enhanced ability to articulate opinions, and their newfound perspectives has been truly remarkable. This initiative has opened up a world of endless possibilities for them, shaping their development and expanding their horizons in profound ways. We look forward to nurturing these experiences and fostering further growth within our school community.

The Greek School of Holy Trinity Birmingham proudly represented the Greek community of the UK in a remarkable educational trip to the European Parliament!
Our Junior Ambassadors took part in dynamic activities as part of the EPAS programme (European Parliament Ambassador School) and had the honour of attending the prestigious LUX Audience Award Ceremony.
As the only Greek school from the UK invited, our students joined peers from across the EU in an unforgettable experience—fully funded by the European Union.
